OVERVIEW
Denied — Then Determined
When the Harpers applied for pre-approval, the lender's middle score came back far below what their own monitoring app showed. Someone with a similar name and a shared old address had accounts reporting on the wrong file — plus two medical collections the family had already paid.
The Challenge
A mixed file across two bureaus, paid collections still showing balances, and a purchase contract with a 180-day financing contingency. Every week of delay risked the earnest deposit.
Our Approach
We filed mixed-file disputes with identity evidence to both bureaus, sent furnisher-direct challenges on the paid collections with receipts, and opened two secured lines to add positive history while disputes processed. The family got a shared tracker and a bi-weekly call — no wondering, ever.
